How often?
Have 1 serving daily or 4–5 times per week, ideally with breakfast, between meals or after training. It works best as part of an overall diet rich in vegetables, fruit, quality protein and minimally processed foods—not as a replacement for meals.
Why it works
🛡️ Supports normal immune function: Kiwifruit, oranges, mango and spinach provide vitamin C and other antioxidants. Vitamin C has established roles in both innate and adaptive immune function. (Office of Dietary Supplements)
🌱 Supports your natural “detox” systems: Fibre, fluids and plant foods support healthy digestion and regular bowel movements, while adequate hydration supports normal kidney function. Your liver and kidneys do the actual detoxifying—this smoothie simply gives the body useful nutritional support.
🦠 Gut support: Greek yoghurt or kefir with live cultures provides beneficial microorganisms. Probiotics can influence the gut microbiome and interact with immune responses, although benefits vary between strains and individuals. (NCCIH)
🌾 Fibre-rich: Chia, kiwifruit, spinach and mango provide fibre to support digestive health, bowel regularity and beneficial gut bacteria.
🫚 Ginger: Adds natural flavour while supplying gingerols and other plant compounds, making this an easy alternative to sugary juices or processed “detox” drinks.
The simple formula
Vitamin C + colourful whole foods + fibre + live cultures + hydration.
No extreme cleanse, fasting protocol or expensive “detox” ingredients required—just a delicious whole-food recipe people can realistically make and consume consistently.
